Throughout the year, SCPD and Suffolk County PBA members participate in a variety of events to benefit the community. “We try to do more than just keep people safe; we strive to help enrich the lives of everyone in the county.” – Officer David Samartino

The Suffolk and Nassau County PBA’s donated $5,000 each to Island Harvest in support of Operation: HOPE Veterans Service Program.  “The Officers of the PBA are role models for others, always giving back.” Randi Dresner, CEO Island Harvest.

And once again this year, the SCPBA takes part in their favorite holiday event at the Premm Learning Center in Oakdale. The officers, with help from their families, will provide hundreds of beautifully wrapped gifts for over 100 children, spreading holiday cheer and magic for children with special needs. Continuing this tradition for decades, PBA officials ask the Principal and the teachers to find out what each and every child wants for Christmas. They take that list and shop for each item and wrap them with individual gift tags. You can imagine the children’s glee as Santa and his elves arrive with a bag, filled to the brim with toys! And then, when their name is called and they open a gift they hoped for… this is the magic of Christmas.

“The Suffolk County PBA and our families wish you the gift of giving. For as we experience, during the holidays and all throughout the year, it is in giving that you experience the greatest joy.”
